Introduction

Garry's Mod is a modification for Half-Life 2, available on Steam for the low price of $10 (assuming you have HL2 already -- and why wouldn't you?). Unlike other mods, there are no "rules" in Garry's Mod. Instead you're given a huge selection of tools, props, and post-processing effects -- all of which can be tinkered with and manipulated as you see fit. New tools are being added all the time, and even more tools are available thanks to the outstanding folks in the Garry's Mod community. You can use these to pose ragdoll characters in compromising positions, build vehicles out of spare parts, blow shit up, or create anything else your heart desires, by yourself or with friends online. Is it worth $10 and putting up with Steam?

Hell yes. Paying for this game puts food in Garry's mouth. Not only that, but because Gmod is now available on Steam, it can be updated sooner and more frequently than its predecessors. This means bugs can be hammered out, and new tools can be released. At the moment, these updates happen almost daily, so if something is broken or bugging you, bitch about it here. Garry's a goon, so hopefully he'll see your comment.
