Installing Addons

While everything you need to play Garrysmod on the goon servers is in the SVN, sometimes people like to install their own addons for added functionality in singleplayer. Installing addons is very simple, so here is how to do it.

First, find an addon you want to install. If you don't have one, then why are you reading this?

After that, look for an "info.txt" file. For this example, I am installing the sentryposer addon. In the picture below, you can see that I have located the info.txt file inside the "sentryposer" folder.

Now, copy the directory in which the info.txt folder is located. Again, in this example it is the "sentryposer" folder. Then navigate to your garrysmod addons directory. It is located in the following location by default

   C:\Program Files\Steam\steamapps\(YOUR STEAM NAME HERE)\garrysmod\garrysmod\addons

Once there, right click on any blank space, and paste the folder you copied earlier. For me, it is the "sentryposer" folder. Now you should see the folder nested among all your other addons folder like in the image below.

The folders with the green checks on them are SVN folders.

You're done! Now when you start up garrysmod, your new addon should be installed!
